Like everything else with moving parts, your car needs looking after and it needs this attention regularly. If you drive your car without regular servicing, it will experience a build-up of wear and tear that could affect its vital systems. The engine, the technological systems and other advanced components can all become damaged when you skip your maintenance checks.

How often you need to service your car will depend greatly on your driving style and the type of vehicle you drive. As European servicing experts, we’re here to give you advice on some of the best cars on the market.

Here is our maintenance advice for some of the cars that we look after.

Servicing European Prestige Cars

Land Rover Service

As with most other vehicles, you have to service your Land Rover after it completes a set number of kilometres or months. The Defender, for instance, needs servicing every 6 months or 10,000 km (whichever is first). If you have put your vehicle to the test on tough terrains, service it earlier if required. Look up your owner’s handbook to find out how often you need to service your particular model.

Jaguar Service

The latest Jaguars come packed with some of the most impressive features money can buy. Without regular servicing, you will put your Jaguar through a lot of strain.  Service intervals are longer for the newer XE models. You have to send them for a service every 24 months or 34,000 km. If you drive a vintage Jaguar, book it for a service every 6 months or 12,000 km.

BMW Service

Modern BMWs have a condition-based servicing system. If the servicing icon lights up on your dash, you have to send the vehicle for a maintenance check. The technician will replace the oil, the oil filter, the brake pads, and the brake pad wear sensors during a regular tune-up.

Aston Martin Service

If you drive an Aston Martin V8 or V12, send the vehicle for servicing every 12 months or 16,000 km. Once the vehicle completes 112,000 km, you will have to change the spark plugs. If your car has completed 64,000 km, the technicians will have to replace the automatic differential oil. Also, replace the air filters on the V8 after every 48,000 km (32,000 km for the V12).

Mercedes Service

Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 variants need servicing every 15000 km or 12 months. All other engines need servicing after every 25,000 km or 12 months. The technician must inspect the engine compartment, the poly-V belt, and fluid levels. They also check the wheels, the underside of the vehicle, the lights and the brakes.
